Tony Bohnenkamp has been active in the music industry full time since 1997. Over the last 27 years, he has been in several bands, including “The Nadas,” a folk rock band from Des Moines, IA. After many sessions in recording studios across the midwest, he realized he had a talent and love for recording and producing music, so he created a home studio in his basement in 2002. A friend and former bandmate, Jon Locker, also had a studio in his basement, so they decided to open Sonic Factory Studios in Des Moines in 2007. Since then, Tony has recorded and produced a multitude of bands and musical projects.
In 2012, an old college friend, Corey Moss, who had moved to Los Angeles, CA. to work in the entertainment industry, approached Tony about writing some instrumental clips for some of the shows he was producing for his company, Principato-Young (Now called Artists First). Tony jumped at the chance and dove headfirst into the creation of music beds for a variety of entertainment platforms.
Since then, Tony has passionately continued to create custom music for use in projects for web, TV and the film industry. He has also branched out into composing for corporate clients and their advertising and marketing media. And along the way, he has continued to write songs for himself and various friends and family in need of one-of-a-kind compositions for any number of special occasions, including workout soundtracks, birthdays, anniversaries, and holiday get-togethers to name a few.
